Print this sheet for problem 1.5.37 from the book and neatly solve the problem and answer the questions at the end with complete English sentences.
For my solution, see: PDF, Maple.
Grading: Pass/Fail.
One minute's work firing up Maple, entering the
DE and IC and you would have had the correct answer to check your hand work
against. The final solute amount is given in the back of the book. If you did
not bother to check either one of these and had the wrong answer: FATAL ERROR.
[With the expectation that this might be graded, why would you not check if your
work is correct or not? I don't get it. Someone explain to me.]
The end product is to answer the questions about the initial and final concentrations compared to the incoming concentration. If you did not do this, FATAL ERROR. In answering this final part, the result should have made sense if you thought about it. We are here to think, not go through the motions.
FATAL ERRORs resulted in Fail. Otherwise you got
a Pass. If this were a business contract and you delivered the incorrect
results, you could be sued.
I am not entering these Pass/Fail grades into your cumulative grade, but I will keep the
results for consideration later in the course should I need additional input
about you.
