Villanova University Teaching-Talk discussion list

Originally sponsored by VITAL [see the link], this was a" news group" originally set up by one of our EE faculty members last century:
http://news.villanova.edu/ with this list description http://ftp.ece.villanova.edu/teaching-talk.html
but after a quarter century of activity in March 2023 it was transitioned to a Google group:

Typically, this forum hosts exchanges of educational related topics which generate feedback and discussion on an irregular basis. This is the only venue available to VU faculty and staff to share or discuss education related issues, or alert the community to a nearby event of interest to some members of the community, or simply share some idea that might be of interest to our Villanova academic community.

I try to look after this email list since I myself want to be able to share events or online articles with others like myself in our community, and I think it serves a useful role for our staff and faculty. In recent years, the Villanova faculty has become increasingly silent although it has roughly 160 members. The future of this list is not good if only I send an occasional message. It would be a shame to lose this platform which offers our community its only voluntary way to share thoughts.

joining this group

One must have a google account to subscribe to a google group. The account doesn't have to receive the group emails at a  @gmail address but must be associated with a gmail address to set up the account. Only Villanova faculty and staff may join so a Villanova email address is necessary to confirm that.

Go to: https://groups.google.com/g/vu-teaching-talk which will prompt about signing in or creating an account, etc.

If not subscribed it will say "You don't have permission to access this content" and will display a link for "asking to join the group". That will send a message to the list managers/owners who have to approve the subscription,  to verify that the subscriber belongs to the Villanova faculty or staff.
