Homework advice MAT2705

Nearly every final answer in this class can be read off a device screen. Indeed you are allowed to use Maple to evaluate such answers on every quiz and test. This class is INSTEAD about learning how to understand how technology delivers those results.

Doing homework is essential to learning how hand solution techniques work which in turn develops your understanding of the subject. You can also check your hand results for homework problems before entering them into our homework portal, BUT bypassing your step-by-step derivation will only short change you from the understanding that is important to have when you exit this class.

Some useful e-text homework exercises are not in the online homework exercise collection, but will still be assigned to help you gain more experience that is helpful. Some hints about online homework exercises may also be found there, so check the homework log as well as going directly to the homework portal.

When you need help on a specific problem, use the "Ask the Instructor" tool for online problems but since grahics are not available on that messaging tool, follow up with an email directly to bob of your actual work on a problem using a photo of hand work, or a Maple worksheet if you used Maple attached to the email.

Online homework will count for 25 percent of your grade, and you have unlimited corrections available to get every problem right eventually, if nccessary with bob's help, so thete is no excuse other than poor time management skills for not getting 100% on that grade component. Try to keep on schedule by doing your assigned problems by midnight of the day they are due. If you have not used "Ask the Instructor" prior to class, you can raise a question during our Zoom class, which I may either attempt to respond to in class or promise to follow up with an email to the entire class later.

You can also arrange to meet me in my Office Hour Anytime Zoom room for one -n one-discussion. The link is in our BlackBoard class page on the left navgation menu.

We will see how that works out in practice!
